Why isn't anyone offering a full frame digital rangefinder alternative for half the price of Leica M? Made from 1984 to 1998, it’s possibly the most popular Leica M these days. The Leica M6 is a rangefinder camera manufactured by Leica from 1984 to 2002.. These were the standard from the 1920s through the early 1950s.

The case is; I really want a Leica M6, but it is just so ridiculously expensive it seems hard to justify the purchase, even though I could afford it if I really wanted to. Informally it is referred to as the M6 "Classic" to distinguish it from the "M6 TTL" models, and to indicate its "Classic" M3 dimensions. LEICA's first lenses like the 50/3.5 ELMAR and 50/2 SUMMAR took A36 filters. It offers good build quality, a capable metering system, and fully manual, fully mechanical shutter operation (still fires without battery power). The M6 combines the silhouette of the Leica M3 and Leica M4 with a modern, off-the-shutter light meter with no moving parts and LED arrows in the viewfinder. And this was the hype of Leica. Later M4-2 Winders with serial # 10350 and above allow continuous operation and with a top speed up to 3 fps and M6 compatibility with 4 AA batteries. Reply.

I have been through a lot of cameras in my time, and I have owned a few different Leica bodies. For example, if you’ve just bought a Leica M6 for £1200, and you want 50mm lens for it and have a budget of up to £800 to keep your total spend less than £2k, you could buy a brand new Zeiss 50mm f/2 Planar, a Voigtlander 50 f/1.2 or f/1.5 Nokton. A36 filters snap or clamp around the front of the lens. What is a good alternative to the M10? NIKON D800 + 21mm f/2.8 @ 21mm, ISO 100, 2/1, f/8.0. Why I think the M6 is the best Leica rangefinder. Leica M10.
Sellin (Leica M6, Kodak Tri-x) It doesn't have to be a Leica killer but rather a decent offering from a company like Voigtlander, Epson, Mamiya, or Zeiss to add a true digital rangefinder option to the table. I have also got the enviable position of being able to try out more cameras than you can shake a stick at, and I have come to a conclusion that may put a few noses out of joint.
