Ross Seals generally feed on fish, squid and krill and they dive to depths of several hundred metres to grasp their prey.
Diet differs between species but usually includes squid and fish and, for Antarctic species, krill. Their coat is dark to light brown on the dorsal (back, upper) surface and silvery-white on the ventral (belly) surface.
